Here is a little about Margaret

Margaret's varied playing career has taken her all over the world, but she has settled in Scotland where she has enjoyed playing for many weddings and concerts.

In 2006 and again in 2008,along with other well known British musicians Margaret was invited to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen and cellebrate her "services for British music" . She has also played for Prince Phillip,Lady Diana,Princess Anne and she played for the wedding of Sara Ferguson's body guard! When living in the Midlands Margaret played for many of the private weddings and parties of entrepreneur Peter de Savary.

She is the resident harpist for Warwick Castle, and recently played for the Home Office and their European counterparts in the Queen's state dining room.

Margaret has performed for Russian Television in the winter palace of Peter-the –Great; in Japan for the Empress at the Soka harp festival, Tokyo; in America for the North American Jane Austin Society conference; in Istanbul, playing on a steam ship for Turkish celebrities and European journalists; in Scandinavia following an award from the Anglo Norse Society, France and Germany. Margaret also visits Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand every spring to give concerts and master classes.

Margaret has enjoyed passing on her skills to young students, and has developed a harp school on the lovely Island of Jersey in the Channel Isles as well as her private pupils at home. She has tutored in workshops and given many demonstration recitals worldwide.

When not playing for special occasions Margaret works for a charity called "Music In Hospitals". For twenty years Margaret has been visiting hospices, hospitals, special schools, prisons and care homes to share her love and enthusiasm of her chosen instrument. Margaretr also is no starnger to orchestral work. She has played as a free-lance harpist for many orchestras and played in most of the large concert halls in London and the Midlands.

Now living in Scotland, Margaret has played at many beautiful Hotel and Castle locations in and around Edinburgh, Perthshire, Invernesshire and the Hebridean Isles.

With twenty years experience, Margaret will help you choose the ideal music for your occasion and is more than happy to arrange a favourite piece of music - be it classical or pop - for the harp. Or, if you have no idea Margaret will spend time with you helping you choose from her vast selection of music from classics, jazz, film, pop, folk and traditional wedding tunes. She loves making arrangements for the harp just in order to make the day a special one!
